How It Works

Components:

• Solar Collector: A 4’ x 10’ panel made from durable black plastic or polypropylene that heats pool water as it flows through. These can be installed on rooftops or on the ground.

• Diverter Valve: This valve directs pool water to the solar collectors during the day and prevents flow at night, either manually or through an automatic electronic control system.

• Pool Pump: Circulates water through the collectors back into the pool. Your existing pump is typically sufficient.

Process:

1. Solar collectors absorb heat from the sun.

2. During sunny hours, the diverter valve directs water through the collectors to heat it.

3. The pump then circulates the warmed water back into the pool.
